Restoring agricultural ecosystems is key for Accor given the importance of its food and beverage activity. Plant For the Planet is a decade-old program now also offering authentic green experiences to our guests as well as sustainably grown local F&B products.
Green practices such as reusing towels or no housekeeping directly finance tree planting, mainly on farmed land, on 420 sites worldwide.
The project improves the living conditions of local communities, enhances yields and crop quality while preserving soil, water resources and biodiversity and enables carbon sequestration.
Over 7 million trees planted since 2009 and over 10,000 direct beneficiaries.
Hotel restaurants in France, Morocco and several Asian countries serve products from the farms where they financed tree planting.
This project uses regular site monitoring combined with registries of GPS tracks (to track farmers, parcels, and trees) to measure and verify impacts.
